MG MGA - one man fender installation?

Has anyone devised a method of installing a front fender by himself? I did the rears without help, but the front fenders are too bulky. I can usually rely on neighbors for help but with this Covid 19 problem I'm reluctant to ask. Yes, there are masks, but its hot out now and that seems unreasonable to ask of anyone. I have put tape on the front door edge and rear/front fender edges, as well as along the front clip edge next to the fender, this to help prevent paint chips if there is contact. So, has anyone installed a front fender by himself....?
Thanks!

Hi George
Yes I have installed the front wings (fender) by myself. It was a while ago but I think the trick was to hold the wing so that it was balanced and then get one bolt in the middle. Perhaps the back end of the wing can sit gently on the door pillar too. With one bolt above the wheel arch its relatively easy to get the second one in in. I think that the balance point is near the rear of the wheel arch. I possibly used my shoulder in the wheel arch to help take the weight. I don't recall it being much of a problem.

I did the same as John.

I would put a stud in a few holes leaving spaces between them so you can position and support it until you have the first bolt in

Dominic, that's what I was considering. I'm going to try to buy "long" 5/16 24 bolts, or a threaded rod. These could be inserted from engine side and stick out to catch a few holes and thus hold the fender. I'll report success (or not!)
Thanks!

I found some old studs in the garage and installed per Dominic's suggestion. This worked well, on to the other fender!
Thanks!
