My only guess is to check with bob West. Other than that, you have to do some work tracking down prices and seeing what is selling for what and compare to yours.
Good luck.

Hi Colin, You need to get another MGA owner locally who can verify its condition with you - check with MGCC. If it is as good as you say then its minimum value will be £15k and depending on that condition - up to £25k. Being LHD will pull in buyers from the continent - mainly Holland, Germany and Switzerland I would expect and the £ is low against the Euro at the moment. So probably worth a punt putting it on Ebay with a reserve of say £16k. Why not post some photos here for us to judge. good luck - Cam

Though I don't know about British values, you can check the Hagerty Insurance Co. web site....There is a "tab" that says "Value your car"....It shows the value trend over a period of time, and gives definititions of the 4 levels of condition of the vehicle....It's been a good guide for me, and you don't have to have Hagerty as your insurance carrier, to use it.

Hi Again Colin - just got the MGOC mag for September. There is an ad for a Mk11 roadster in Torquay "priced to sell" at £15k - give them a call and go see it to compare with yours - 01803 298165

thanks for thoughts , i have just met a large wall in the name of my daughter ! who has told me in a very strong style ! so i will have to think on at the moment as i think that she is gathering her forces ! maybe a new member?

Funny. Often when I get frustrated by my lack of driving time, I will randomly mention the thought of selling my Coupe. Wnenever I do so, my little kids yell "NO!!!" I think the Coupe is like garage "furniture" to them - they are used to it being around.

Colin - "who has told me in a very strong style" - does that mean she has a large amount of cash in her bank?
Cam Cunningham

Hi Cam
My Daughter , the cash was mine and she intends to keep it as usual but that is fine ,my wife tells me that as we are booked to go to Classic Le Mans again in 14 we have to take the MGA so decision made it stays , but i will still make enquirers around , we are in France at the moment for Angouleme etc but in the MK1 Golf GTI Cabriolet a future classic maybe ? having a tour around .

"Mk1 Golf GTI cabriolet A future classic maybe?"

The future is now! That is already a true classic. Not quite yet in the MGA league, but heading that way!
Neil McG

Hi Neil,
RE GOLF MK 1 i always fancied the GTI when it first came out but no chance at the time buying house etc all of the important things that get in the way as they do , i was not looking for yet another motor when i spotted this one at Powderham castle Exminster Devon , ( CBCCC )weekend i set my reserve and it came in on the money ! only 62000 miles with all of its MOT etc a genuine motor and we are enjoying it whilst in France for 26 days it is not the MGA but , the hood is so easy and quick to put up and it is truly waterproof no more soggy maps Theresa cant believe it .
Cheers Colin
