MG MGA - RAC badge

Does anyone know what is the correct RAC badge design for use with a MGA? There appear to be many different types. Mine is a 1960.

This would be a good one if you could find it, quite rare.

It is a 1950s Royal Automobile Club motor sport badge issued by the club to members who held a competition licence. Expect to pay £20-£30.

Nigel, Mine is like the one Bob found on ebay in metal - there are the cheaper plastic ones around as well. I do like the one Steve has though.

Trouble is I don't have it. Scanned in from my Automobilia book. Got loads of AA badges though. I even remember the days when the AA patrol men on their motor bikes with sidecars saluted every car sporting their badge. I've also got the key to unlock their emergency phone kiosks. Not seen a kiosk recently (last 30 years), so do't know if it would still fit if I came across one.

Steve, There is an AA kiosk at the cross roads near Tatton Park - it is a listed building. I too have an AA key - will have to try it sometime (and get a photo of the MGA next to it.)

I think the one Bob has found is the right era, it just looks too modern.
The one I have is attached, but I don't know how old it is.

That would (according to google) be:

This badge has a small blue diamond shape in the centre with RAC on it and round the outside the words Royal Automobile Club Associate. On the back it has a number 7438 and is complete with bracket. Date of issue 1936 Condition is very good.
