MG MGA - Rear Axle Oil
Has anybody got any tips for an easy way to top up the oil in the rear axle? The filler plug is not easily accessible, and I can see myself finishing up with more oil on the garage floor than in the diff casing! |

What do you mean not accessible? It is the only way to fill it and check the level. |

Robert I use a squeezy bottle with plastic pipe on the nozzle. Steve |

I use the same as Steve, it's the standard 1-litre container that you buy the oil in. I just refill it from a 5-litre container as it works out much cheaper. |

Floor jack under rear axle, raise car high. Jack stands under frame, then lower jack to lower rear axle to hang on rebound straps. This gives best access to the rear axle filler plug. |

Great tip, Barney. Much easier for someone who doesn't bend as easily as he used to! Thanks |
