MG MGA - Removing fuel guage
I have undone the knurled wheel at the back of the guage but I can't get the guage out of the dash. Presume it should lever out? Don't want to use too much force. |

Once the knurled knob and bracket are off there is supposed to be nothing left to hold the gauge on. The O ring on the front will be hard and stuck and may be holding the gauge in.

As RJ's picture above shows it can only be the O-ring holding it. It comes out forward, toward you, just give it a twist first. Barry. |

Thanks guys. I think my problem is the bracket is stuck to the central pin. Will try again. |

Yeah, sometimes the bracket twists a little and jams against the pin. If you square it up (to the dash) it should come off and then the gauge will come out easier. It would be certainly be very difficult to remove the gauge without taking the bracket off completely first. |

Thanks guys. Another result for BBS. Got gauge out and adjusted it. Hardly any difference of course! |
