MG MGA - Scallops?

I just noticed the shape of the rear inner fenders. The bottom curve is not a smooth arch, but rather "scalloped" towards the front. Is this normal or has my PO been butchering again?

If you are talking about the transition from wheel arch to dogleg area, it looks like this:

For "inner fender", how about this:

Mine are scalloped, and I don't think its DPO, may be the only the thing he didn't "improve". The scalloping is quite visible against the black of the chassis. Seems to be three 'bites'. The body is now off if you want more pictures.

Looks familiar. I think mine is like that too, just hard to see in the picture. I will guess they are all like that.

OK, thanks. I guess it's normal!
Art Pearse

Yeah, that's how mine looked. I thought about grinding to a smooth curve, but I didn't.

To my knowledge this is the result of this panel being trimmed in a machine that shears an arc but not the exact arc required of the part.

This would have been done by a production line worker who would have trimmed the arc in three or four goes similar to how one clips finger or toe nails.

All part of the mass produced "hand built" aspect of MGAs.

That is standard, nothing to worry about
