MG MGA - Scammer?

Anyone have experience of a Mr Brad Bentley of Islington, London? Got a very strange response to one of my BBS want ads.

Can you give us any more details - his phone number etc. That should give us a chance to check.

Back in March we had another scammer not far away in the Old Kent Road in London. He went by the name of Peter Lynch. The strange phone number he listed was the give away.

Steve is right - need more details - like his post code and how does he want to pay?. Islington is such a vague address in central London.

This is what I got as a response to my ad:

He wanted UK 340.00 !! The pic he sent was of the back end of a resto project. The initial response was almost like an automated response, totally non-specific.

Hi Art, The postcode gives a genuine place in Liverpool Road, Islington near to The Angel.
However, given that the Angel Islington and also Old Kent Road are on the UK Monopoly board - I would be very suspicious. We need someone who works in central London to visit his offices!!I would ask for more Detailed photos of the specific parts - if he can't supply them then don't take the bait - cheers Cam

See here for details on 070 numbers. It seems the user can set his own high tariff rates to charge you when you call it.

Sorry I repeated Geoff's post. I took a long time searching it and he posted in the mean time.

That's interesting - the same tel No for different addresses.
I had already decided this was a scam, but nice to have confirmation and make others aware.

340 pounds for shut face panels ( and probably 200 pounds to ship).......what makes you think it a "SCAM". Find out wher ethe local English Police Staion is and report it to them. Maybe....maybe they might catch someone.
