MG MGA - Seat rails

I'm looking for 3 of the seat rails that bolt to the floor (The ones with the square holes). If any of you have switched to Miata seats or whatever, and have bits left over, can you help ?

Hi Art. I used a pair of seat rails out of an early 70's volvo 140 series car on the driver side of my MGA. the adjustment lever needed a bit of grinding to fit against the outer frame rail, but it works OK. I used the volvo seat rails with stock MGA driver's seat. The passenger side seat is simply bolted to the floor board (with a spacer to even the height of the seats) and is non adjustable. Hi Glenn. very interesting but I don't have a spare 140 in the back yard! I am going to try fabbing them from sections of 16 ga 1x1 square tubing. I will cut two "L sections and weld together at the correct height, then drill the register holes in one. At least, that is the plan, unless someone comes up with an offer.

I ended up making some from 16ga box sections.

Hi Art

I may be missing something here, but Moss sells the seat slides and rails as a set for $ 46.95 per seat...that's not too expensive for the amount of time it might save you. The part numbers are 454-045 and 454-055. They also sell a hardware kit for the rails.

Good luck,

Jeff, I'm a bit of a cheapskate, so for $6 worth of scrap steel and a couple hours free labour (retired) I saved $100. I already had the slides that fix to the seats, and needed 3 of the floor mounting rails, so it was really going to cost $33 each rail! Actually quite an easy fabrication.
