MG MGA - Some restoration photos

Hey guys,

Fianlly got around to digging my camera out and snapped a few shots of the on-going restoration of my 1600 Coupe. I've fitted it with the Derrington head and valve cover. Originally it was black over red but I changed it to the Dove Grey and went with a non-original marron leather interior with matching grey piping. I'll attach a few more. Cheers!

Can anyone using a Derrington head comment on the difficulty of removing the oil filter?
Maybe it needs the cutouts in the wheel arch like the MGA Twin Cam, which also has the SU's on the right side of the engine.

Wes,

Looking good. I'm looking forward to more photos. Guess the snow is starting to melt up your way.
Hi to Pam.

Do tell, where did you get that exhaust manifold?
Barney Gaylord

Hey Barney,

Came in one of the boxes that was included with my purchase of the car. I never thought to look/compare it with what, from your question, something more originally fitted? I just assumed it was the correct manifold. What do you see that makes this one so different? I cleaned it up, painted it with a high temp paint from Eastwood, then baked it in the oven for about an hour prior to fitting it up. I've run the motor, inital break-in (thanks for the step by step process for doing so). As you can see, the color/ paint held up well initially. Comments.

Your exhaust manifold appears to have longer than standard center branch, different shape at the 3-way junction, and it seem to fit without fouling on the LHD steering shaft. Original manifold looks like attached picture.

I assume changing the oil filter is like with my normal A - from underneath?
