MG MGA - Spade control box wiring photo

Greetings all,

Thought I had the control box wiring all figured out but now....not so sure. The early screw type seems much more straight forward. So, can someone, who has the spade type control box, send me a detailed photo of how the wires connect? Thanks!
Robert Maupin

Robert, as far as I can make out, the spade type regulator has exactly the same terminal configuration as the screw type, the only difference seems to be the way the wires physically attach.
Lindsay Sampford

For example:

There are three 3/8" "male" spades on the control box and three heavy gauge wires: one brown and blue and two brown only. The two brown wires, according to the wire diagram, are joined and attached to one of the 3/8" terminals. Is the other 3/8" terminal left open with no connection? Doesn't look or seem right to me.
Robert Maupin

Don't worry about the "open" terminals on the regulator, they don't all have to be filled, they are for different wiring set-ups on other cars. Just connect the right colour wires to the correct labeled terminals on the regulator according to the diagram and everything will be ok. Lindsay.

The left hand 3/8 terminal takes the Brown/Blue wire the next 3/8 terminal to the right takes the two Brown wires joined together the next 3/8 terminal should have the yellow dynamo/generator "D" lead.

Thanks Lindsay!
