MG MGA - spare fuel can
Hi, I've once seen a spare fuel can that fitted the inside of the spare wheel on a website, but I can't remember where. Has anybody sucha fuel can and could you tell me where I can find it ? Thanks, Koen |

Koen, I saw one at a Dog Agility Trial that someone got with their Honda Generator. Don't know where they got it but it was a neat idea for a spare fuel tank. Maybe some Honda dealers sell them as an add-on. I doubt it would work with wire wheels since I don't think there was a hole in the middle. Jim |

Sounded like an interesting idea, so I googled a little. I found these pictures of an old Volkswagen one. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=638678 Also saw BMW and Mercedes versions. I can't imagine they would still offer these, but this site had a Mercedes part number and said the price was £44.83. http://www.baby-benz.com/portal/accessories/fitting-fuel-can-in-spare-wheel.html |

Here is another from just last year that says you can order them from a BMW car dealer. http://burgmanusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19563 |

Hi, I saw it on a website that sold classic car parts, they offered aluminium fuel cans that fitted various sizes of wire wheels. But I forgot where I saw it. Koen |

Probably worth checking the legality in your respective country of using such a can, especially if it is old like that shown in the VW photo. I believe the law in the UK requires petrol cans to be marked 'Petroleum Spirit Highly Inflammable', also a 5 litre maximum capacity. Steve |
