MG MGA - Speedo Jaeger s/n 6161/06 1440 w/green high beam
Does anyone have a cross reference list of gages? A club member has the above gage he sez is for the MGA w/16K miles on it for $20.00. What is it correct for, MGB ? Cheers Curt |

Barney has a list of the MGA numbers. See here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/dash/st110.htm Steve |

Hi Steve! Right you were, found it. I am really surprised at how many gages there were for MGA's, kinda blew my mind. They went off the deep end from the T-series cars. Thank you again for the post. Curt |

Steve - I was just curious so I went back to see if the tach was as extensive as the speedo. I couldn't find a listing of tach's, does this exist anywhere in Barney's articles? Thx Curt |

As far as I now, there were only three tachometers for MGA. First was the early one 7000-rpm with the older stye numerals on the face. Then the most common one 7000-rpm with the later style numerals on the face. And the 7500-rpm tach for the Twin Cam. See the first three pictures here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/dash/dt120.htm |

Hey Barney, many thanks. My reason for the question was, he also had two tach's @ $20.00 ea, a RN 2300/01 Jaeger and a Jaeger RN 2350/01. He claimed the 2300 was MGA for sure and the 2350 was twin cam, I can see now from your pics it is not. Wondered what they were bringing now (I don't fool with ebay) and should I get them as spares maybe? Thx & cheers Curt |

As Barney very correctly says, the Twin Cam Tach is easy to spot as it goes to 7500 RPM while the pushrod cars only have a gauge that goes to 7000. |
