MG MGA - Splash plate
The rear splash plates (behind the rear wheels) do not have any seals and there is a big gap at the top and a smaller gap on the outsides. Are they just a sort of stone guard ? |
Art Pearse |
Yes, sort of a stone guard. It protects tail light wiring and also provides a mounting point for the bottom edge of the fender. |

OK, so what is the hole for in the centre top of the plate? |
Art Pearse |
Probably used by a former owner so it could be hung for spray painting. Barry |
Barry Gannon |
Don't think so Barry, there are other holes that could be used for that. |
Art Pearse |
The top center hole is likely a factory production tooling hole, placed on a guide pin to hold alignment during forming of the part. |

OK, so I'm not missing any bits that might fix there! Thanks. |
