MG MGA - Steel wheel nut (lug) torque setting
What is the recommended torque setting for steel wheel (lug) nuts? I have looked in my owners manual and handbook and cannot find any settings. I searched the archive but couldn't spot anything definitive - apologies if I have missed it. Many thanks for any advice.
41.6ft lbs apparently, according to the archives.
Many thanks Steve.
Could you tell me what search terms you used please? I found few obvious thread titles when I used 'wheel nut torque' (all terms). Quite a number of the threads seemed to relate to the hub nut torque settings.
I simply searched 'steering wheel nut' include all words.
Thanks Steve,
It was the torque setting for the road wheel nuts I was looking for.
I should have gone to ...(that well known opticians)!
Workshop manual (General Data, page 3)
Road Wheel nuts: 60-62.5 lb ft.
So should I. I thought the thread said steering wheel nut, not steel wheel nut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
