MG MGA - Useful tool
I had to take the front WW hub off (don't ask why)and was faced with the task of removing the cotter pin from the wheel nut. Well it got in a position where I could not straighten the pin legs through the hole in the splined hub. So I made an extractor using a 5/16 bolt. Worked great. See pic ![]() |

I sincerely hope you are not going to reuse the split pin! (not a cotter over this side of the pond) I don't even bother - just put the socket on the nut and undo, it cuts the split pin head & tails off then you con drive out the remainder of the pin once the hub is off. |

Another good touch, Art. |

Great idea, I usually cut the bent legs of the split pin with side cutters, but it's fiddly, I shall use your puller next time. Cheers Dave |
