MG MGA - Valance Rebuild
Bought a pretty rough fiberglass valance off fleabay and I've spent a few hours repairing it. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. A big thank you to Barney Gaylord, I followed the rebuild of his valance almost to the letter. ![]() |

Good result, I have a 'glass one also but the radius on one side is too severe, the only solution, apart from ditching it, is to perhaps cut in a few places and fill. I will try and get a photo posted. Regards, Don Walker |

Hi Larry, I am doing the opposite. I picked up a dented steel one off ebay a year or so ago - now have had it painted and it looks good - so it will replace my fibre glass one shortly . |

Nice work Larry. Looks just like my steel valance. Andy 60 Coupe ![]() |

Nice workshop Andy - it's about the same size as my house!! |

I actually have the original steel valance, but it's rusted through in the center. I would actually prefer using it, but the plastic one will do until my welding and sheet metal skills improve to the point I won't be embarrassed to have my work in a visible place. Up to now, all of my welding has been in spots it won't be seen until the next time someone restores the car. |
