MG MGA - washer pump

I have replaced my old original windscreen washer pump
with a new one from Leacy Mg and am very disappointed with it's operation. There seems to be no guts on the suction side and it has trouble sucking the water out of the bottle -this is even with the one way valve removed. It is also very stiff and difficult to press in. I've primed the pump and it still struggles to pull up the water. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know of a good source for the one way valve?

just go to your local aquarium shop and buy a couple of valves for an air pump line, they cost almost nothing and can be inserted in the tube from the bottle and the tube to the jets. Then you solve the issue and can return to the old pump.

I agree that all the repos are junk, I have two of them in the cellar junk parts box

Thanks Dominic, the aquarium check valves sorted it all out, they're really neat and do not require much suction to operate.

I was in the box today, and I have one repro and one original pump. if anyone is in need of an original pump, feel free to stick up your hand.
