MG MGA - Windscreen
Anyone know if it is possible to polish an old glass windscreen, to get rid of the sun glare caused by sandblast effect from the road? |

Probably not. That would require a tremendous amount of polishing to remove the surface to the depth of the pit marks. |

Art, I had my daughter's MGC GT glasses polished (ie scratches removed), much cheaper than buying new ones! But the scratches must be shallow, the guy told me that if you can feel them with your fingernail they can't be polished out! Glasses look new but wavy lines in certain light. Overall a good result (car won MGC class at recent national meeting Concours). |

Art; I know this will sound silly, but have you tried Rainex on the windshield? Give it a couple of good coats, and leave it to dry awhile. It seems to be able to fill some of the light pits to cut down at least some of the glare. |

If it's not too bad you could use cerium oxide powder which has a very small grain size which, from memory, is less than a micron I think.............Mike |

As Mike suggests the detailers use Cerium Oxide John |
