MG MGA - Windscreen Top Corner Brackets

Rebuilding windscreen after rechroming and discovered I need replacement top corner brackets. Barneys web site recommends Todd Clarke and not Moss. Is this still the case?

Yes. Todd Clarke's have the threaded holes in the right place. The Moss parts went back

But Todd's tapping plates for the sides of the screen were totally wrong and I had to re-drill and tap these, as none of the holes were correctly placed

I cannot recommend Todd Clarke's windscreen parts but others I have bought from him have been good. I bought all new brackets to rebuild my original frame from B&G. All fitted well except top corners which after breaking 2 I reverted back to using an original. The difference was noted. The original was steel and the new were brass and as such broke at the top screw thread when assembling. Maybe worth checking before you buy.

The Moss brackets do not have the correct post angle. The posts need to be parallel when installed, not to follow the lateral slope of the windscreen posts. Having said that, I bought them not knowing this and I used them, but it's not perfect.

I tried Todd's brackets but they were not a perfect fit and I reverted to restoring my original brackets. Todd's brackets are much better than anyone else's though. I found it very difficult to get a good fit with the frame and the mitred corners. John

I am asked to find a right hand windscreen frame piece (the one that holds the glass) for a friend who is restoring a car - he has the rest of the frame and stanchions already. The other frame pieces need rechroming, so condition is not an issue. Has anyone got one surplus to requirements?
