MG MGA - windshield posts
Underneath of the chrome of my very early A 1955 windshield posts, ,I noticed they are made of bronze are they all like that? Thanks Marc |

Hi, Actually I think they are made of brass, and yes, all of the original posts are bade of brass, at least to my knowledge. There may be aftermarket copies made of aluminum or other materials. Cheers, Glenn |

The posts and I believe the entire windshield frame are solid brass which takes chrome plating very well. John |

I agree all the frame and posts are brass, but do be beware the grab handles are that horrible zinc alloy stuff, which you get re-chromed at your own risk; that's if the platers will touch them! When they electrically strip the old chrome you can expect holes to appear, so best replaced. Pete |

The sports screen ones I have are aluminium, but polish up beautifully with a wheel. The standard length ones are brass. |
