MG MGA - Wire wheel conversion problem

Hi
My mga has had a Wire wheel conversion in the past, using bolt on stub axles. I notice that the rear stub bolts and nuts interfere slightly with the spoked wheel hub. So they must be to long. Can I grind the stub bolt down slightly ? how about the nuts ? has anyone had this problem ?
kind regards
DJ Joy

Normal

either use a shorter stud or grind them back. Use a half depth nut if you still have an interference issue, but shorter studs (from grinding or otherwise) should resolve the problem.

It's not safe to use in the current state because so get on with sorting it out.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Do you know where I can purchase half depth nuts ?

I did the full ww conversion with my 1500 disc back axle. i.e. new half shafts and hubs. I got the bits from Bob West and my invoice from 1999 notes the half thickness nuts as part number FNZ507. Give Bob a ring.

I bought my kit from SC parts. First attempt brought some wrong parts, which they remedied. If you buy from them, make sure that you speak rather than doing it online.

Use Triumph wire wheel nuts on MGA studs for clearance, assuming the studs are not too long.

If they are too long, either saw the off shorter or use spacers - see attached picture
