MG MGA - Wire wheel front hub puller

Anyone know of a source of a front hub puller for wires? I can find no record of the British Tool company which Barney recommends.

I'm not sure what threads I have on the hubs until I check.
The swivel seal replacement is a bigger job than I thought now I see the earlier threads here. Typically its the bottom one which has split.

Thanks

An original Churchill puller has just sold on Ebay for over 70 Pounds. A similar 8tpi one for MGB's sold for a similar amount, and a Churchill hub nut socket went for over 100 quid.

You just use a suitable spacer behind the wing nut after removing the hub retaining nut.

I've never had any problem getting the hub off. In cases where it is reluctant, a piece of 2x4 on one side held with modest levering force against the back of the disc combined with a dead blow hammer tapping on the other side of the disc always pops them loose.

If you have one of the disc deprived models (1500) then the methods outlined by Gordon and Art are probably your best bet as you have nothing to tap on. You can also fit the nut loosely, lower the car onto the ground and push hard on the fender in a lateral motion to get it started. I do NOT advise using the method some advocate for getting seized on wire wheels off - loosen spinner and then drive slowly in a circle.

John, the company closed up long ago but he has continued to manufacture and offer tools sporadically when the need arises. Try this email to contact Robb and if it doesn't work then contact me off-line and I'll see if I can put you in touch.
