MG MGB Technical - 1980 MGB buzzers

Aparently certain 1980 MGbs wer fitted with door and ignition switch buzzers.
I cannot locate any info on bentley witing diagrams.
Can anybody tell me where those beastley buzzers are hiding.

Sandy, Have you checked on how your 4th gear thread has been going--it's been interesting

What page are you looking at?

North American models had buzzers for various things from 1973 on. For 73 and 74 - with a complex interlock system for part of 1974 - the buzzer sounded if the keys were in when the drivers door was opened, the car was in gear without the driver's belt fastened, or the passenger seat was occupied without the belt being fastened.

In 1975 this was simplified and only the drivers belt was monitored, and the key being in with the drivers door opened, passengers obviously being expendable at this time.

They are in my Leyland WSM and Haynes, I don't have Bentley, but these redrawn schematics http://www.advanceautowire.com/mgb.pdf are based on Bentley and Haynes, the buzzer is in the 'seatbelt module'.

It is amazing how a simple transmission question has evoled.
Next time I may ask for the current value of OLD SPECKLED HEN.
