MG MGB Technical - 68 pillow dash removal
I would like to remove the pillow dash to do some electrical work on my gauges. I have removed the bracket bolts from under it and have tried to lift it up from the bottom with no luck. There does not seem to be and bolts in the top of the dash. Is it just clipped in at the top?. I do not want to break it by too much force upward. Thanks in advance Bill |

Bill, There are a row studs across the back top of the dash. You will have to reach up behind the dash to the scuttle to remove the nuts that hold the dash to it. I have always removed the instruments first. It is not an easy task. I will take a photo of a dash that is out of the car and post it here. Joe G |

Thanks Joe for your quick reply and pics. There is not much room under this type of dash to remove them but I will give it a try. Bill |

Bill, I would recommend you replace the dash with a 1972-1976 dash with face vents and a glove box. You can remove the face vents and the glove box to give much better access to the back of the dash. The face vents will not be functional on your car, but they look fine. You could also fabricate a removable plate to replace them. Joe G |
