MG MGB Technical - 70> Door panels
Is it true that door panels are the same for the roadster and GT? Thanks Dave |

Dave, the panels themselfes are equal, but there is a difference at the rear upper end. The GT has larger windows reaching a bit more to the stern, so the window canal is longer. Roadster doorskins can be modified by cutting away this small edge, GT panels for the use in a Roadster have to be modyfied by welding on this liddle bit of sheet metal. Everything else is just the same on the doorskins of both the versions. Hope this helps Ralph |

Hi Ralph. Sorry for the confusion. I meant the inner card panels. I have a set for my 1975 roadster and another I thought was for my 1973 GT. They are identical. I wondered if my GT ones were infact for a roadster. Thanks. Dave |

I was under the imp[ression that around 72/73 the panels (door cards) were reduced by a small amount around the edges to allow use of a different door seal design? George |
G Burrow |
george i wasnt aware of a change to the seal other than furflex to nylon in the late 60s ? ste |
Ste Brown |
Furflex changed to nylon for the 72 model year, 71 still has fuzzy door seals. |
