MG MGB Technical - $75 B parts car on ebay 1971
I think this should qualify as an exception to the ethics considerations of cross posting. I already posted this on the General board. There is a 71 roadster in Conn. with a buy it now of $75. Running gear looks complete, bad floors, no interior, says engine is not stuck. About 1 day left. If the link doesn't work, its in the car parts group under the salvage car section. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-MGB-Parts-Car_W0QQitemZ270226526431QQihZ017QQcategoryZ6783QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Charley |

Anyone know what kind of carbs those are? I'm thinking about getting it just for the carbs! I'd imagine it's an upgrade to my stock 1980 single ZS carb. Anyone have a comment? |

Jeff, Looks like twin SU HS4 to me. It would also provide you with the required intake and exhaust manifold. Charley |

So are you saying I should DO IT? :) I think $75, plus <$50 in gas for my truck/trailer... sounds like a no brainer for spare drivetrain parts for my '80 B. |

Bought it! I'll post a new thread up after I get it to my house about swapping the carbs over. |

Jeff, Glad you got it. I don't think you can go wrong at that price. Twin SUs would be my first choice if I were changing from the single Stromberg. It's a pretty safe bet that the carbs will need to be rebuilt, and it is quite likely that the throttle shaft bushings will need to be replaced and new throttle shafts fitted. If the bushes are not too worn, they might ream for the oversize shafts. Charley |

Thanks for the words of encouragement Charley. |
