Most folks won't probably see the usefulness in an Emissions manual, simply because they have removed most or all of the smog gear.

Not necessarily a good assumption. There are still sections on SU Carb testing, setup, tuning, and Oscilloscope diagnostics which some people may find more useful than they realized. Just remember that even the emissions standards of 1968-73 put a greater emphasis the condition and adjustment of the carbs and ignition than ever before to meet standards as the systems became worn.

Tightening up your own standards even without Emissions controls and equipment cannot hurt you or your cars, and might even yield better performance even without all that smog crap hanging off of the engine. You are very likely going to be using SU carbs and Lucas ignition regardless. Something to consider.
