MG MGB Technical - Chasing MGB Seat Hinge Cover
Hi, I am not sure if this is request is relevant to this page of the website, but I was hoping that some one may be able to assist me in tracking down a small MGB part. It is a black plastic cover for the reclining seat hinge on the later MGB's 1970's to 1980's (there are four of them - two left hand and two right hand to each. I will try to include an image but maybe some one will know what I am referring to. They are not available as a reproduction item, so I am after a used set if possible. Thanks, Maurie Prior, NSW, Australia |

Hello Robert, you are very lucky, I was about to throw one of these cover into the dustbin. The one I have is thge opposite side to the one in your photo, there is a corner missing, but the screw is still there. regards John |

"I was about to throw one of these cover into the dustbin" Sacriledge! If you haven't found a use for something yet you haven't kept it long enough. |

John from West Yorkshire, thank you for your interest, however, I need one exactly like the one shown in the image. I was hoping that someone may have fitted different style seats and may have had some left over. I am in the middle of a complete restoration on a car that I started eleven years back, and after losing interest for ten of those years, I have rekindled my desire to complete it. It is funny, but I have two of lots of things - duplicated orders etc, but sadly, I am missing some very important pieces. The image blow is where I was at, about three weeks back. Maurie ![]() |
