MG MGB Technical - Clayton Heater?
In the March isuue of MG Enthusiast on page 24 there is mention of a Clayton Heater for the MGB. Does anybody out there know anything this item? Is there a URL where I can see what one looks like? |

Steve, No URL but some discussion on a Triumph board for the T2 , 3 and 3A series may be helpful. Link: http://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=11884 Cheers , Pete. |

Pete- Thanks for the lead, but it ended in a blind alley. The unit that they were talking about is from a supplier that specializes in items for Triumphs, not for MGs. |

Steve is this what you were looking for?? http://tinyurl.com/37m762 It was the first thing that popped up when I put in Clayton Automotive Heater in google. |

There are at least a dozen areas that can contribute to poor heater output. Whilst fitting a new heater matrix and motor/fan can correct some of them (but so would new standard items) if the problem is poor water circulation or air direction it won't make much difference, as some have found with other so-called uprated heaters. |

I have the clayton 3 speed heater in my GT, as you can see its a fair bit bigger than standard, swine to fit but it chucks out loads of heat much better than the original unit.

I installed a combined heater/AC in both my BGT's. You can bake bread in them in the winter. I got mine from Rainbowproductonline.com. Steve |

Here is a flyer for the Clayton heater. It is about £300. They have a web site www.claytoncc.co.uk but curiously the MGB unit is not shown there. I have been in touch with the company and at present they have none made up and are waiting for supplies from their manufacturer. They expect an approx 3 month delay.![]() |

K Harris- That appears to be what I'm looking for. Is the one in your image an actual Clayton-manufactured unit, or is it made by some other company? |

Hi Steve from SC,can you provide pictures or more information on the install of the AC/heat system in your MG,thanks Larry |

Steve, its a actual Clayton Heater as sold by Moss.. The 3 speed switch is a rotary type, I fitted in place of the rheostat. Ken. |
