This is complicated. Borg & Beck (the OEM manufacturer for MG's of the era) was the recommended brand for replacement for years. Sadly, they went out of business in 2005 - bought out by Driveline AP. It seems Driveline AP also went out business in 2009 (http://www.leamingtoncourier.co.uk/news/local/features/leamington_automotive_firm_ap_driveline_technologies_goes_into_administration_1_1061868). Moss has clutch kits for £81.95, and 'aftermarket' kits for £66.95 and 'powertune' brand kits for £53.15. Just reading on another forum, apparently most clutch kits come in 'AP' boxes, but the heavy duty boxes are also labelled 'Borg & Beck'. Good luck!! |

I ordered a clutch kit in November 2010 from MG Owners' Club. I phoned them and asked if it was Borg and Beck and they told me B&B no longer existed, and they were supplying AP (Automotive Products) clutches. When the clutch kit arrived it was in an AP box and the clutch was stamped 'Borg & Beck'. Maybe they've still got old stock. |

Borg & Beck and Automotive products were one and the same company. They were bought and sold by several larger companies in the 80s and 90s. |

If you buy a clutch kit that is marked as Borg and Beck you'll find that it was manufactured to a higher standard. RAY |

It seems that Borg & Beck again exists as a stand alone company, sold in the UK at least by Firstline. Early history here, but it says nothing about what happened in recent years. I know it got mixed up in the Delphi debacle, which fell apart 2005/6. http://www.firstline.co.uk/borgandbeck/history.php They even have old timey packaging & logos! Note the webpage copyright: © 2011 Borg and Beck. Be sure to check out: http://www.firstline.co.uk/borgandbeck/history_gallery_flash.php Which has wonderful period ads. An especially good MGA one, Prince Bira in a Maserati at Brooklands, a Riley 1.5, and an MGB Does anybody know how to pull images out of the stupid "Flash" thing? FRM |

FR Millmore, I am no computer expert but I was able to download the image from Borg & Beck as follows, hope you can do the same.- - Right click on image - Select "Print" from options. - In printer name select "Microsoft XPS Document writer" or similar document writer. - Enter file name and location and save. |
