MG MGB Technical - coil over suspension
Any one try moss front coil over suspension kit? If so how good or bad is it? It costs 1000 but seems to look as a n easy install and would eliminate the old shocks. thanks Doug |

The Hoyle front kit is a much better design because it moves the spring outboard enabling a longer and softer spring to be used. I have Hoyle kit on both front and back of my GT and it is excellent. You can adjust ride height, damper settings and wheel camber easily. John Hoyle is a real English gentleman and has sold many kits in the USA. http://www.hoyle-engineering.co.uk/html/suspension.html |

Send the shocks to Peter Caldwell; they will come back better than new with a lifetime guarantee. Leave the car alone unless you are a competent race engineer and mean to use the car that way - even then it is questionable. You will not improve it by changing this stuff. FRM |

Totally disagree! The Hoyle front and rear suspension will dramatically improve the car - and it does not need a race engineer to install ! Coil over and independent rear suspension is arguably appreciated more in touring than in racing. A definite, if not a bit expensive, modification worth going for! I echo Mike above, Hoyle is a better design, and worth the extra. |

OK. Is Moss selling the Hoyle kit for $1000? Seems to me that was what the man asked, and what my answer applied to. And I was attempting to dispel this attitude that there is something inherently "wrong" about the OE design and shocks. Hoyle might be a great thing, so is a Lotus or Ferrari. FRM |
