MG MGB Technical - Concentric clutch slave for MGB with T9
Is anyone aware of a supplier or any details of a conversion to a concentric release bearing for a HighGear kit for the MGB? |

The V8 gearbox front cover provides that and is said to fit the 4-cylinder gearbox - if you can find one. |

The car will have a Ford T9 fitted, not a MGB box. |

Dominic try Rally Design. They developed said mod for T9 for rallying. I have one on my race car. You may need spacers though, which Burton Engineering can supply. Colin |

Thanks It looks like I have to work out a spacer thickness. Are there any references / experiences that can provide guidance on this? |

Dominic unfortunately I cannot remember which spacer I used! I bought the unit and release bearing and then played about with it until I could measure things. If you work from the face of the back of the block and measure how far to the clutch fingers. That is obviously a fixed length. Then fit the assembly into the bellhousing and measure the depth from the front face of the bellhousing to the release bearing. Take away the first number and there you have your spacer thickness!! I will have a look through my files' and see if I can find the Burton invoice. Colin |

Dominic, what a system I have!!! Part number for the spacer I used was APC7F 1in. It is a start for you. Colin |
