MG MGB Technical - control box
is there a way to bench check a control box. I have a new one but it will not charge the battery. The original charges but only shows 12.5 to 12.7 volts. |

I believe the procedures are in the factory service manual. Section N.5 |

Jim, If you have an early voltage regulator from a generator car, be sure to clean the points. Paul |

Your gonna love this, the owner purchased a new manufactured generator and a new 3 bobbin control box. vehicle would not charge. I polerized the gen, No output. installed the original generator and get over 15 volts. car won't charge with the new control box. clean the points and install the original. vehicle charges 13.7 volts. I've been messing with this stuff for a long time but to have two new parts that fail to work is BS. I still can't get the control box to work no matter what I try. |
