MG MGB Technical - Cylinder Head Casting Identification
Hi, The carburettor refurb did the trick. 1st time starting and much better response! Next problem! I will replace the head for an unleaded version in the near future, I've taken off the rocker cover but cannot identify the casting number as it doesn't appear on any indexes I have checked. There are no numbers visible elsewhere and 585 384 on one side, with 29(6?)0 and a large no 5 undeneath it. Anyone recognise these or have I bought a Sherpa in disguise? |

Can you upload an image so we can see? Peter |

1st photo, quality is poor but i've had to tinker to get the filesize small enough to post. I has the offset oilway. The engine no is 18V847 H035857

Hiya I really need close up pics behind rocker shaft line towards manifold side of head to see the numbers that may ne present. From a distance it looks like a 12H4736 off set oil feed lump head. Peter |

Sorry for the wait, waiting for the rain to stop! There are definitely no other obvious markings on the head, the only distinguishing feature is the offset oil feed and the castings numbers I have already supplied. |
