MG MGB Technical - Early MGB oil filter head alternative
Attached is picture of 2 oil cooler take off. I had the one with an angled outlet fitted and was obviously having trouble with the flexi pipes fitting. Now aquired the correct one ( on the left straight outlet) Can anybody identify which cars the angled outlet one fits. It has an ident number of FA 5601 Andy ![]() |

Does anybody know what the angled outlet one fits? |

No idea. MGA perhaps? |

Not MGA. I havnt seen one like that before! |

As this is painted maroon and is off a BMC B series engine, may I suggest it is an aftermarket oil filter head for fitting an oil cooler to a MG Magnet, I don't know this for definite but seems probable, |

It is made by tecalemit, same as the MGB ones, same in all details apart from the angled outlet. |

I have several of those - as far as I can remember they came from 1622 B series engines NOT fitted with an oil cooler but the solid pipe that ran under the distributor. |

Here you go - usually found on Austin / Morris / Wolesley engines - the MGA had an oil pipe that ran over the top of the distributor .
