MG MGB Technical - fascia brackets
Can anyone please advise the function of the brackets that occur to the rhs and lhs on a UK 69 GT please. As far as I can tell they are bolted to the square section cross member via a simple tag but come nowhere near the bottom of the dash assembly. See attached image Many thanks and apologies for yet another question. Mark ![]() |

The brackets are stiffeners, which fit between the nut and washers and the the top dash fixing brackets. |

Thank you Allan, I obviously wasn't thinking laterally enough. My engineers brain saw two tags with 5/16 holes and having two brackets in my hand with same sized holes I jumped to the wrong conclusion. Does now beg the question what are the two tags for. Mark |

Paul I call it a tag but could be a lug, bracket? The attached image shows the lhs circa 9" in from the A post just to the left of the LHD steering / dash mounts - horizontal. Sorry about poor focus. Mark ![]() |

Mark, Those brackets are there for the right angled bracket which supports the fibre glove box, one each side for LHD and RHD. |

Right angle bracket, and a similar piece to the first image, but with flanges along the long sides, items 6 and 9 here https://www.mgocspares.co.uk/acatalog/MGOC_Spares_DASH__MGB__100.html |

All back in place now and with the correct brackets installed all as above many thanks all for helping me out. Took whole weekend of dummy runs and installing column, etc. getting dash in with all the gauges is quite a tricky affair one I hope not to repeat. Mark |
