MG MGB Technical - Filter king
Just wondering if anyone has any pictures of a filter king fitted to an MGB to show where / if they fit. Thanks |

Err, Excuse my ignorance but what is a filter King? Is it like a burger king?. Mike |

Hi I haven't got a picture but mine's fitted on a homemade bracket on one of the wing mounting bolts in front of the washer bag. ['78 car] Ron |

I mount mine on the bulkhead between the side of the heater and the bonnet hinge. Easy to alter the pipes and its out of the way. |

Thanks sounds like I'll be fitting mine in a similar place to yours Jim |

You most helpful gentlemen, did not respond to my facetious contribution. I get then this Filter King is one of these filter-cum-fuel pressure regulator? So they work by filtering and evening out pressure right? Mike |

They limit the pressure at the outlet, they don't even it out. Not required with the correct pump for the MGB, just more to go wrong. Filters shouldn't be needed either if the system back to the tank is as it should be, my roadster hasn't needed one (so far ...) in 23 years. The V8 came with one but I've not changed it in 17 years. A filter *can* be helpful though if you have a mucky tank and it is causing the float valves to stick open though. But then they can also be forced open by excess pressure from an incorrect pump. |
