MG MGB Technical - Flywheel needed 63-67
Hi, I am in need of a 63-67 flywheel to use in a rebuild of an 18v engine to mate with an MGA transmission and a MGB clutch. I am having a time finding one. Any help finding one would be appreciated. Thanks, Neal Turner 910-231-1882 |

Neal It will be the flywheel from the late 64 to 67 which was the 5 bearing GB engine. The 63 to 64 G/GA engine is the same as your MGA and only mounts to the 3 bearing crank. You will also need the back plate unless you have it machined to fit the 5 bearing engine. Ste |

Neal. Bob and Gil Schaulin operate an MG wrecking yard in Phoenix, Az and will have the part you need. Their telephone number is 602-415-1846. They can ship parts nationally and internationally and have a large selection of MG parts. I have used them for over 20 years and, when you call, mention my name. Les |

Another possibility is to machine the 18V flywheel to take the 15/16/to 18GB 120 tooth ring gear. Easier than finding an 18GB one, and it likely wants a new gear anyway. My understanding is that that's how Rivergate did it for their 5speed conversions. Might want to send it to them or call them for the correct dimensions. FRM |

Neal - I sent e-mail messages in answer to both of your messages to me. It appears that my messages aren't getting through. I have just tried sending the messages to you again at the address you show above. Cheers - Dave |
