MG MGB Technical - GT door window rear track bracket
Started putting GT doors back together and found it difficult to get the rear track in proper alignment. The box of brackets I had were all the same size except for one which was longer. The longer one worked fine and now I need a left hand rear bracket for the other door. MOSS (USA) lists front and rear brackets for the roadster which fits only the rear of the GT. MOSS hasn't been able to give me a size so I am relunctant to order. If anybody has the door panels off of their roadster, could you verify which of the brackets shown on the attached image is used. I just finished replacing the door window rubbers on my '67 roadster which required the removal of the door windows. I believe you'll need the longer bracket, in your picture, to do the job. RAY |

On my 67BGT the brackets are as is your picture with measurements added. Hope this makes sense.

Ok - I made a mistake in the brackets location and measurement. I will go and remeasure and create a new picture. |

OK - so here is the corrected version. Also look at MOSS Europe page 105/6 for bracket info showing differences for roadster and GT http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/Pdfs/MGB/MGB-10A_9_REBUILD.PDF ![]() |

Well I now see that Moss Europe has made the following change regarding the brackets in their latest catalog. Note: These brackets are now manufactured with multiple fixing holes to suit front quarter light channel and rear channel fixing. The brackets are now MB70R and MB70L, channel lower front and rear RH and LH My info was from their 2006 parts catalog which showed HZA226/7 Bracket, rear channel RH/LH Roadster 2 screw fitting HZA2066/7 Bracket, rear channel RH/LH GT 2 screw fitting HZA678/9 Bracket, rear channel RH/LH Roadster 1 screw fitting HZA2086/7 Bracket, rear channel RH/LH GT 1 screw fitting Sorry for all the confusion |

Thanks guys The bracket in the MOSS EUROPE catalog must be the universal bracket mentioned in a number of other threads. I don't know why MOSS USA does not provide that here. Ray indicates the larger bracket is on his roadster so I will order the part indicated for the GT at MOSS USA. Joe G |
