MG MGB Technical - Heater pipe info plate
I found a info plate on the heater pipe of a mark 1 mgb in a wrecking yard that I have never seen before. It reads "caution" in large caps; and, "It is impossible to drain heater unit when draining remainder of cooling system - under freezing conditions bluecol antifreeze must be used". I've owned a number of MGBs since 1965 and have never seen one of these. Is anybody aware of these? Joe G ![]() |

Joe- Yep, I've seen them on early MGB's before. It's a nice collectors item. Don't toss it away. A Purist might be willing to buy it for his restoration project. |

Joe- As a point of interest, the sticker on the plate is still available from Moss Motors. You'll see it on page 75 of their latest catalogue. It's item # 44. |

Stephen, There is no sticker, it's stamped into the brass plate. Joe G. |

Joe- From the appearance of the rectangular section in the upper left hand corner, I thought that it was a sticker afixed to the plate. |
