MG MGB Technical - Help !

Hi Everyone,
So I recently aquired a tr7 to accompany my MGB. Do any of you know any bbs's like this for tr7's ? If so its very hard to find. Anway I was wondering if anyone has any information or could answer this question for me. The car has dual Zenith Stromberg 175 CD-FVX's with a weird starter attached to the front carb wich is impossible to find information on. Now all manuals I have, car manual/haynes/Chilton/haynes zenith book, all specifly that I should have a fine idle adjustment screw along with the trottle adjustment screw. There is none on the carbs. Which leaves me scratching my head. There are two conclusions I have come to.
The first conclusion is that it is missing. I consider this because if the screws are missing then I should be having a very high idle, which I do have (correct me if im wrong). Another reason for thinking this is inspection of the piston and not being able to remove the needle as the last PO did not put the screw in the slot to hold the needle in place(I have spare zenith parts so I switched out the piston). Which makes me wonder what else has been redone improperly. But I do not even see the idle screw for sale from either Moss or Victoria British.
The second conclusion I have come to is that you need to adjust just the throttle screw to get your balance and your mixture screw ??? But that seems impossible. But then again I may be wrong.
Any other information you deem important that I am leaving out, please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I could buy a set of used HS6's with manifold and linkage from england but im not sure if I want to go that route yet if I could just simply rebuild the carbs and switch to a manual choke, although price wise the difference is not to much except for the shipping from England...

Once again thanks in advance,
James

By the way, with this recent TR7 purchase, I do have to state how lucky we are to have a place like this for our MG's and to have a guy like John Twist posting his youtube video's. Ive been coming to this BBS since 1996 when I was 15-16yrs old!

James,

there are not that many information for TR7 cars on the web as for MG's.
You can try to contact Rimmer Bros via their page www.rimmerbros.co.uk and ask for a catalogue that is very informative.

An other source for information is the "Inofficial Austin Rover Page" where a lot of historic information upon the BL brands is given, covering Tirumph with the TR7 and it's engine too.
If you use the links there, you will learn more upon the TR7 and it's 'mystics'.

Hope this helps

James, there are several BBs around for Triumphs, but I don't see the amount of traffic on them that I do on the MG boards. You can try the Moss Pub BB http://www.mossmotors.com/forum/ they have a number of Triumph threads, one for TR7's and 8s as I remember.
This board also has a Triumph section, look at the bottom of the page and just click on the Triumph name to go there. Just don't expect quite as much traffic or help as you see here.

There's a button at the bottom of this page for a Triumph BBS...don't know if it's any good, though
