MG MGB Technical - Kudos to vertically challenged stub axle
I've just received back from Dick Luening, in Wisconsin, the stub axle set sent him less than 3 weeks ago. As we all know, the proper technique for geometry retention on the front lowering of the RB MGB is to lower the axles, and not by inserting a cut off coil spring. It took a while, and thanx to some on this BBS for aiming me, but I finally found Dick at MG Racing Greenfield Wisconsin : mailto:dick@mgbracing.com. I'm pleased with the promised turnaround time and the job done. Do me offboard and I have some jpegs to show anyone of you interested in eyeballing the job he did for me. Clean work and a completely rebuilt set of stub/king assemblies, vertically lowered 1 inch, to just bolt in! Great job. Cheers Vic

Would like pics to galanf-at-juno-dot-com. Be sure to address the bump-steer problem that lowering the spindle introduces, assumng he uses the traditional method of removing material from the top of the swivel axle and adding it to the bottom. Or does he actualy move the spindle up in the swivel axle?

Greg, Bump steer is not an issue on this method. Here's a pic: http://www.mgbracing.com/images/600_lowered_kingpin_spindles.JPG
