MG MGB Technical - Leyland Manuals Question

With the help of a forum post I found this link to the "MG Repair Manual".

http://www.bentleypublishers.com/product.htm?code=x115

The site says it includes:
MGB Owner's Manual: 1962-1974
MGB Repair Manual: 1962-1974
MGB Tuning Manual: 1962-1974

Is this manual basically the same as my "MGB Workshop Manual", "Publication Part No. AKD 3259 (14th Edition)", "Leyland Cars-Service"?

If not, is it a worthwhile purchase to have in addition to this manual I already have?

Note: The workshop manual I currently have is several hundred pages long, and is broken up into sections "A" thru "S".

Thanks,
BH

BH,

i think it is one of the best you can buy, as it contains the drivers handbook and the special tuning manual too. The workshop part is very close to the official publication and comparable to those from Haynes and Auto Books.

I'm not familiar with AKD3259, but odds are it's the same. The Bentley book is supposed to be a reprint of the factory service manual (presumably AKD3259).

Just to grab a random example, the first page of section Ma of the Bentley book begins:

Section Ma.1
PEDAL FREE MOVEMENT
A free movement of 1/8 in. (3.2 mm.) measured at pedal pad must be maintained on the brake pedal.

Does this align with your book?

Cheers!

Rob,

Yes.....exactly the same.

It would appear the Bently book includes my service manual plus some other features such as the owners manual.

Great idea!
Thanks,

Bernie, the Bentley is the book to have. The only drawback I see is that the late model version is not as complete and the early version. I have both and it seems that if you have a RB car you really need both to be complete. Somewhere there is a copy of both scanned and avaialble for you to read/copy but I do not have the link anymore. Maybe someone else will know it
