MG MGB Technical - Light Bulbs

Hi All,
I have a '74MGBGT project for which I need bulbs in various locations. Some are missing, others blown, etc,and none of the bulbs have a readable number. Is there anywhere I can go, website, book, etc, that will tell me what bulbs I need for each application. Bently gives me a list that only says I need a 12V bulb at X wattage for a particular location. They all look like standard bulbs that would be available at almost any parts house

Thanks,

Mack

You can try looking at the online catalogs for Victoria British and Moss. Try some of the other British car parts suppliers.

Mack, Here is a list from a 73-74 owners manual. I assume they are all Lucas part numbers, I don't have a cross reference link. all are 12 volt. w=watts.

Alter typing this with two fingers, this information may be on Paul Hunt's web site. Hope this stay lined up when I hit the send button

I don't have that information Clifton. I have thought about it but I would need a copy of each of the several drivers handbooks that were issued over the years, as I think this is the only easily accessible listing, the bulbs changing in fitting if not wattage over the years. As well as varying over the years they also varied by market.

Thanks for the responses

I think Clifton's list is the same list I found in the Bentley Manual; and like Clifton, I assume that the part numbers are Lucus and not cross-referencable (is that a word?). I know that I can order from Moss but all the bulbs look like standard bulbs that I could buy from any parts house cheaper and quicker than I could order. However, that presupposes that I have a part number that I can cross reference to something that is currently available. Looks like Moss is about to get a call.

Thanks again,

Curiously, I remember all that info being available in an old Chilton manual at the local library. That said, the dash lights are funky ones you should get from Moss but the brake lights, turn signals etc are all normal 12v bulbs used for the same purpose on lots of other cars. Bring the dead ones to the parts store, match them closely for socket size and pin location, and all will be well.

If you can't match your old bulb at your local parts store, then try your local British Car garage. The owner may sell you the proper replacement bulbs with no shipping charges and the owner will probably have them in stock.
