Thanks for the reply. I tried that before I posted here there are a couple of choices of white for my car. My question was is the code anyware on the car?

Clausager sez 1970 was Glacier white until 1977, Snowberry in 69, Snowberry or Old English in 67/68 and so on so it could depend on your model year i.e. chassis number and not the year it was first registered i.e. the number plate or registration document. No code on the car until the final year, you would have to get the BMIHT 'Birth' Certificate, but there is nothing to say it is still the original white if you want to match up.

Hey Mick,

Whether it's needed for "touch-up" or a complete respray, you should be able to have the existing colour "computer scanned" by most reputable body repair shops, and they can mix you up an exact duplicate of what is already on the car. The best part is that it will even allow for the natural "fade" that occurs over the years.

Good luck.

I would get the colour codes of the most likely colours and take them to an automotive paint supplier, they will have swatches they will then be able to use to match up to the actual car colour.

You'll find the colour codes and reasonable representations of the actual colours here:

As you're in the UK, I'd stick to the colour codes in red as these are the original factory codes. The others are specific paint manufacturer codes.
