MG MGB Technical - Minator wheels

The Minator Wheels I fitted (76 B)can not have the balance weights on the inside, because they foul the trackrod ends, is this normal, or is the offset wrong?

Fit the stick on balance weights

Interestingly they always use the clip-on weights to the edges of the rims of my MGB wheels, even when there is more than enough room to use stick-ons centrally inside. The machine always tells them to stick so much on one side and so much on the other. I'm not sure if this is because they set the machine up in a certain way, which then leads me to think that the stick-on weights for modern alloys are actually a compromise because they can't attach the ideal weights to the edges of the wheel!

They were stick ons, but on full lock, the track end scraped them off.
I thought they are stuck on the inside for cosmetic purposes. Most modern alloys have them only on the inside

What they should do is set their machine up for 'centre balancing' and then stick the weights in the centre of the rim, away from the TREs.

Some track rod ends have larger "heads" than others. Either fit some with smaller heads or get the shop to stick the weights further into the wheel to avoid the track rod ends.
