MG MGB Technical - New Rockers from Moss
I'm wondering if the valve rocker arms (460-250) from Moss Motors are same quality as original equipment. Has anyone tried them? |

Don't know! But perhaps all you need is a rebuilt or reconditioned rocker shaft assembly. Our MG suppliers here will sell this on an exchange basis. The old ones get re-bushed new shaft proper reaming I think? The old rocker arms unless they have sustained irreprable damage are reuseable? Am I wrong? Mike |

Another thought; Check the 'screen rod' thread Terrence. It involves Moss!! Mike |

I had my rockers rebuilt by a shop in Oregon. They've worked fine for over 10 years. I think the part that rides on the valve stem is case hardened so you can't do much grinding there unless the shop can reharden. |

Good rule of thumb. Never buy new if you can get what you have refurbished. No point putting up with the uncertainty of modern parts quality if you don't need to. Most original bits are better quality than modern reproductions. |

Plus, rebuilding helps our domestic economies directly and helps keep the machine and repair shops in business. |

Thanks all for your thoughts. Yeah, I do tend to rebuild rather than trust replacements. Learned that the hard way. But nowadays I don't have much faith in the machine shops either. I guess there's fewer things for the machine shop to screw up, so I'll go that way. |

David Anton is selling an offset bore rocker that increases the ratio a bit and the HP a tad, FWIW |
