MG MGB Technical - Oil pressure gauge connection
What is the preferred method of sealing the gauge to the copper pipe? Mark

A small fibre washer is usual.

The original equipment seal was made of leather. RAY

Easy to make a leather one too!
Allan Reeling
Mine didn't have one for years, decided to add one when replacing the pipe, cut from a piece of card using different sizes of hole punch.
Paul Hunt
I just installed one and used a leather washer which worked perfectly. It was donated by a US owner. When I spoke to Moss about this their tech mentioned anything with some give - even cardboard like Paul mentions. If you make a leather one make sure you soak it in oil prior to installing.
