MG MGB Technical - overdrive plates
i need to change the gaskets on the 2 plates at the bottom of the o/d unit. 1 with the 6 screws for the filter and 1 with the 4 screws for the solenoid. is anything going to fall out when i take these plates off. this is on my MGC but assume its the same for mgb. thanks bob. |

D-type/3- synch or LH-type/4-synch? The following refers to the LH. The oil when you remove the one with six :o) Not the solenoid plate. But if you have oil leaking from the solenoid plate it is the O-rings that are leaking, so change those as well. The solenoid may drop out, or may need gentle tugging. It comprises the parts as in the attached, if the top cap comes off then watch out for the little ball that is inside. More info here http://www.mgb-stuff.org.uk/lhod.htm#5 ![]() |
