MG MGB Technical - Paint code

I am looking for the paint code for my roadster, the car is a GHN5 car but was built in 1969 it is BRG,but I don't know if it is paint code 25 or 29, any help would be appreciated.

Andy, if it's the lighter, more yellowy, green then it's 25. If it's the original colour on your car then it is likely to be this. 29 was the earlier green that was on the early/mid '60s car and was much darker. If you type 'MG green' into Google, then click Images, on the top row is Roadster XLT 809G - that's paint code 25.

hi andy. the top of this page is a good match for the darker one.

If you are trying to match it for partial paint then you need to get it analysed. If a full repaint then anything you like best.

Dark British Racing Green (29) was used from 63 to 70, so if yours is 'original' that is almost certainly what it will be. After a repaint it could be anything, 25 is more 'olive' to me. You might like to take a look at http://www.mgb-stuff.org.uk/paint.htm

Thank you all for your reply's, I like Paul thought it must be GN29 paint code which is Dark BRG, as this colure was used for Model year 1969 and 1970, but my car is as Peter suggests lighter and more yellow, (this is in areas like inside the boot behind the dash, and under the underseal which was applied during its PDI) so I am still not sure.

Do you have the BMIHT certificate? I would expect that to have the full and correct name. Clausager (who gives the dates each colour was used) is not infallible.

Clausager (who gives the dates each colour was used) is not infallible, yes Paul I think you are right, about Mr Clausager, no I don't have a BMIHT certificate, the body is off to the paint shop next week, I will go and discuss this further with the painter,
